| Meeting Outline: (by Walt Sloan)
One of the great books that many entrepreneurs study is Napoleon Hill's 1937 classic, "Think and Grow Rich". Hill began at an early age to study great achievers such as Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell. He became the world's foremost scholar and thinker in the science of human success and the author of" many books.
In this book, Hill talks about the "Master Mind": the collective brain power that is tapped by many highly successful people. Hill defines the "Master Mind" as the "Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people for the attainment of a definite purpose".
Hill was first drawn to the concept of the Master Mind by Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie's surrounded himself with a group which consisted of fifty staff members whose definite purpose was the manufacture and marketing of steel. Carnegie attributed his entire fortune to the power he accumulated through this "Master Mind".
How can we connect with our "Master Mind"?
There are a few places in which we can have a "business forum". They all have their own "point of view". Some are "leads factories", others are public speaking platforms, while still others are more social.
"Let's Talk Business Network" is one that is focused on business people dealing with business issues.
Here is an introduction to one of their programs which functions as a "Master Mind" group.
As a business owner and leader, you are faced with the challenges of owning and operating your business each day. Critical decisions such as hiring employees, marketing initiatives, compensation, and financial management are key to your success.
Who can you turn to for support on making critical decisions?
Unfortunately, most entrepreneurs turn to their friends, family and employees for advice, people who often don't understand the complicated issues in running a company. Wouldn't it be great if you can turn to other successful business owners for support and advice in an intimate environment that stresses learning through peer collaboration?
The CEO Roundtable is a facilitated, interactive discussion between entrepreneurs, principals and owners of small to medium-sized growing companies designed to help them solve problems in a supportive and collaborative environment. Each participant is given the opportunity to describe his or her business and discuss a specific issue or challenge that they are currently facing. Once all of these issues have been identified, the group begins a moderated discussion, drawing on the experiences the participants, to find strategies and potential solutions to their problems.
This presentation is led by Michael Ringel, CPA - Managing Director, Let's Talk Business.
About the Speaker
Michael began his entrepreneurial career like most, at a very early age. His many ventures included selling lemonade, mowing lawns, shoveling snow and paper route. At the age of 12, he started a mailing label business with his very fast, Apple II+ computer and in 1984, when AT&T broke up, started a telephone installation business. While each business was profitable, the lessons that he learned and the experience were invaluable.
Michael graduated magna cum laude SUNY Albany with a BS in Accounting. Michael began his career at Deloitte & Touche, but a life-long career in accounting would not allow him to realize his full creative or entrepreneurial potential. After leaving accounting, Michael achieved his MBA in Marketing from New York University.
As a partner in Let's Talk Business, Michael has over 8 years experience professionally facilitating peer-to-peer learning environments. These forums allow experienced entrepreneurs to discuss and collaborate on issues and challenges facing their businesses. Specifically, he has experience facilitating Technology CEO Roundtable events, where leaders of technology companies participate in peer-to-peer collaboration. |
